Takin it Easy

January is almost over already and I still got my Christmas lights up. I think the squirrels will finish gnawing them off the house before I get around to taking them down.

There hasn't been a whole lot going on around our house other than us preparing for the baby. We dug out what's left of Marcel's baby clothes the other day to take inventory of what we need. I guess I should of held onto funky town a little longer. I sold it last year to make room in my closet where I was keeping it along with all his baby clothes. I still have the baby walker though since it really didn't take up that much space. I was starting to think another baby for Lana and me was just never meant to be. Marcel's going to be a big brother. I can't describe how good that makes me feel to know we're going to bring another life into our family.

Marcel's been asking for a little brother or sister like it's something we can pick up at a trip to Walmart. He once told my brother that we were buying one on eBay. I'm not sure what gave him that idea but it was still pretty funny.

Not a lot going on these days at my house other than Heroscape taking over my brain. I found a local Yahoo group (Houstonscape) that plays pretty regularly and I finally made it out to one of their events. Marcel and me had a blast playing as a team. He's getting pretty good at strategy games. This weekend is Owlcon so we'll get our fix in for some gaming and hopefully meet the man himself, Steve Jackson. He's supposed to be there this year doing some playtesting. I'm going to bring my beat up GURPS 3rd edition for him to sign. I've been playing GURPS for over ten years now and been demo'ing and pushing his games for something like four years now. There's not too many games made by Steve Jackson Games that I can honestly say I don't enjoy so it'll be nice to meet the man behind the gm screen. This weekend is going to be a full one especially since I opted to not run any games this year. Normally I run so many Steve Jackson Games I have little time to actually play so I decided to try something different this year. I was going to try to get a Heroscape submission in but I missed the deadline. It's probably for the best anyway. Marcel's going with me this year so that alone makes it a pretty new experience for me. I hope he enjoys it as much as I do. All the games, the toys, and elaborate miniature games. It should be lots of fun.

Maybe I'll find some of the Heroscape sets I'm missing in the vendor room this year. ;)

Happy News

I'm going to be a daddy again. The next day I also found out my dad got the job in Victoria and will be moving in March. Nothing but good news. :)
