Hurry up and Waitin

So I've been spending a bit more time on my computer lately. It's amazing how a few new programs to play with and some added RAM can really occupy your time.

Photoshop CS3 rocks as does InDesign CS3!! I won't even go into how much I dig the Adobe Bridge for organizing files. To someone who truly enjoys cataloging and organizing, it's a dream come true. I finally got around to cleaning out my hard drive of old programs like all the old Photoshop versions. I've become something of a program pack rat. Off to the recycle bin. I'm amazed at how much has changed in Photoshop since I first started using it near ten years ago. I love playing in Photoshop but it's always hard to show people what I've done. If I did it right, you can't tell I touched it. I love looking at some of the more abstract Photoshop work as well as the filter freaks stuff but my true love always comes back to optimizing a photo for its true potential to look naturally beautiful - or funny depending on the inspiration the photo gives me. ;)

More than anything though, it's been a lot of A Baby's Story with Lana, watching movies and waiting. We're all ready for Olivia to be with us. Whenever I get to thinking about it, it's a little overwhelming. A baby, another life brought into the world, a sister for Marcel, a daughter. The baby socks, watching her smile for the first time, her first words, watching her play, just holding her, and the almighty Baby Belly Laugh. Babies laugh with their whole body and it's awe-inspiring to hear. Somewhere along the way growing up we lose that. It all goes by so damn fast. I sometimes feel like I squandered away my time with Marcel when he was a baby, never realizing how precious it was.

We went for Lana's ultrasounds a few days ago and got floored to find out she's a little ahead of schedule and probably won't make it to the twenty seventh!! It was a giddy/panicky feeling to know she's nearly here. We came home and packed her diaper bag, set aside some outfits, and realized we don't have a single newborn outfit. Out of all the girl clothes we've been buying up, nothing newborn. I guess I'll have to buy a few more. ;)

Well, off to play some chess with Marcel!
